Sung-Ryeol (Cha Seung-Won) is a detective in charge of violent crimes. He is having an affair with his wife's friend, and it is the reason he loses his daughter in a car accident. Wracked with guilt but unable to explain to his wife, Ji-Yeon (Song Yoon-A), what happened on that day, she decides to go abroad. Ji-Yeon comes home unexpectedly one day, to the surprise of Sung-Ryeol. The next day, Sung-Ryeol finds trace evidence that hints at his wife while investigating a murder scene. He presumes that his wife is connected to the case, and does all he can to keep her from being identified as a suspect. When an unidentified man shows up claiming to know Ji-Yeon is involved and asking for money, the situation is made worse by Ji-Yeon refusing to tell him any kind of truth.

Is there any man sexier on the Korean screen than Cha Seung-Won (well, maybe Lee Tae-gon, Oh Ji Ho and Lee Byung-hun are in the running.) lol Seriously, the man just looks good in every picture I see him in! This one is no exception as he stars as a homicide detecive who covers up evidence that may connect his wife to a brutal murder. He tries to coax information from her as far as any involvement she may have had as she was seen leaving the building where the murder happened that same evening. She, justifiably so, is stil angry with her husband over the collision that killed their only child. He'd taken the child with him to visit his mistrees (her "best friend") and ended up losing control of the car. The child's shoe was stuck and he couldn't get her out of her seat belt in time before impact and she ended up getting killed. Song Yoon-A gives a quiet, dignified, angry performance as the grieving mother and betrayed wife. The last scene between the wife and ex-mistress is EPIC! It out trumped all the other scenes in the movie, as far as I'm concerned. Still one of my favorite films.
