A family of four are the sole inhabitants of a small island, where they struggle each day to irrigate their crops. This amazing film shot in black and white has no spoken dialogue but the film speaks volumes. Beautifully photographed, the family consists of a strong willed father, a hard working mother who dutifully obeys her husband, and two sons. Every thing changes when one child suddenly becomes ill and dies.

Wonderful, movie with not one word of spoken dialogue about a family on a small isolated island. The mother works so hard bringing water back and forth from the sea, working tirelessly until a tragedy happens that tears the family apart.
