In ancient China, before the reign of the first emperor, warring factions throughout the Six Kingdoms plot to assassinate the most powerful ruler, Qin. When a minor official defeats Qin's three principal enemies, he is summoned to the palace to tell Qin the story of his surprising victory.

This movie is star studded all the way around. With some of the best actors, led by the incomparbale Jet Li, under the wonderful direction of Zhang Yimou, it couldn't help but be a winner. An entertaining and lovely film with gorgeous color, cinematography, action scenes and musical score, it is indeed a masterpiece.
